Satellite Radio
More than 100 static-free (and mostly commercial-free) channels of music, news, and sports at their fingertips. That's the reason millions of people are spending $10 or so a month on radio service that is beamed from a satellite to receivers in their cars and homes. Now satellite radio is becoming even more portable, with new battery-operated personal radios that are small and light.
Delphi's MyFi XM2Go, the first personal satellite radio has a suggested retail price of $300. It receives signals from XM Satellite Radio, one of the two satellite radio providers.
MyFi XM2Go is best suited for commuters and travelers, and in homes with rooms that have unobstructed access to the southern sky. But if you intend to wear one of these outdoors while walking or jogging, you may find overcoming its reception problems not worth the hassle. You'll also need an enthusiast's mindset to surmount the MyFi's small but nagging collection of design quirks. With several competitors in the offing, it's probably worth holding off a bit until you can truly comparison-shop.
