WiPod
This program helps you find free WiFi with the click of a button. Go to www.anchorfree.com/wipod and browse a huge list of cities all over the globe. You can then select the locations where you seek free WiFi at. WiPod will e-mail the information to you as a ZIP file. Follow the instructions for importing the data into your iPod's notes folder, and you'll never be at a loss for free wireless access on the road. You can change your cities at any times, and the service is FREE.

Actually, a variety of Wi-Fi search engines already exist. Just Google "Wi-Fi locations" and see what you come up with. I've done this before to just see what we have locally.

Only if they're a place of business and the WiFi is specifically for business use -- like a law firm that has WiFi. The search engines I'm talking about are for WiFi hotspots -- the kind where a coffee shop has the hot spot specifically so people will come into their business and use their internet (and hopefully order their food).
