TrailRunner for your iPod
This Mac-based program creates iPod friendly maps for yoru run, hike, or bike ride. You need to firs timport a map into the TrailRunenr app, plot different routes int he mapped areas, and then figure out teh distances based on GPS coordinates You then export route info to your iPod.This software is a free download right now in it's prerelease version and thus it needs to periodically be updated.

Right -- you have basically a static map. It doesn't track where you are on the map, but at least you have a map with you.

Good poitn, Des. I think that the size of the map WOULD be a downfall in this program.

I mean its a little different than just looking at a map and saying there I am, I could navigate without road ways from one location to another and my husband could call in artillery to a 3 meter square that is being fired from 3 miles away.

That's awesome. I love Marines. They're strong, brave, and smart.
