Personally the whole pebble in the shoe analogy doesn't make me want to buy the product, but to each their own. The article, which reads a bit more like an advertisement than some sort of award ceremony is approximately the 6,000th consecutive Apple product to grace Time. Perhaps a more appropriate name would be the "Apple Gadget of The Week."
It seems that regardless of the product, Time is there with their award. It's almost as if the magazine has some sort of school yard crush on the computer company. If Apple released an inanimate carbon rod it would no doubt win the magazines employee of the month Gadget of the Week award. At what point does this stop being an honor and start being ridiculous? Would Ted Williams' number 9 look so special on the Fenway facade if Carlos Quintana's 18 were adorned next to it?
