Default iPod: Best gift I've received in a long time

My husband bought me an iPod nano for Christmas, and I genuinely think it's the best gift I've ever received. Since that time I started training for a 5K run, and my iPod has been my best friend on those runs, as long as I keep the sound on low enough. I listen to music and podcasts, both of which fully entertain me. The best accessory that he gave me with it was an armband so I can run freely with ear buds tucked in my ears.

Wow - now that's a testimony. I don't have a lot of time to play with my iPod, but I discovered a couple of weeks ago when my watch quit right before a run that I could use the Nano's stopwatch feature and listen to a podcast while I ran. I could even stop it for lap times.

They are definately quite useful and fun little contraptions- I never thought there would be such a popularity explosion as there has been with them though!

True--one winter I was reading how the iPod was Vince Carter's favorite item that he owned, and the next year, I'm asking for one for Christmas. And a great majority of individuals below a certain age (haven't figured that one out yet) own an iPod. Again, I'm curious to see what Microsoft comes out with this fall.

I am sure it will be pretty slick, but whatever it looks like and whatever it can do I don't know if it will be enough to put up serious competition with the ipod.

No kidding --even with Bill Gates stepping down, I think MS will still put out some quality products.

I bought my husband a MP3 player for Fathers Day, and he loves it. It doesn't even do all the cool things an IPod can do and he uses it all the time. He loves being able to take his music and radio with him wherever he goes. It is especially great for when he is riding his motorcycle, he just plugs it in and away he goes and still has his music. We were quite impressed with how easy it was to learn how to use. We are not terribly up in the technology scene. There are so many different things you can choose from when buying one. I'm sure an IPod will be the next thing he will want to upgrade to. There is always somethig new and better coming onto the market. It's amazing what such a small piece of electronic equipment can do.

So how do you get the music onto the IPOD do you have to buy downloads for it or what?
