How many TV's in your house
Ok, maybe it's just me but it seems that TV's are too much of the everyday life of Americans. I walked around my house and counted that we have six TV's. These are located in the living room, family room, basement living room, two bedrooms, and the den. It does not what part of the house you are in, you will never miss your TV show! And, we have suround sound hooked up to two of them. I was at a friends house out of town the othe day and though they have a smaller house than I, they had more TV's! One in every single room of the house with the exception of the bathroom. Even one in the garage. Now if I go out to eat and there is a TV in the resteraunt, I will not sit in the area of it. When I am out with my husband or friends, I want a conversation, not listening to the TV. Then, as if the many TV's aren't enough, we have to keep buying bigger and better TV's. The plasma. (yes, we have one .) Instead of getting rid of one TV when you buy a new one, you just move the old one to a different room. What my husband doesn't understand though is that in order to have a TV in a room, you must also have furniture. So, I get to buy new furniture and change it around as oftern as he buys TV's!

It was funny, we had just moved into a different house and our cable wouldn't be hooked up for about a week. My husband is at work all day and I have a couple days off during the week. I don't watch TV and have never turned it on during the day unless to check the weather or listen to a music channel. Just knowing the TV didn't work even if I wanted to watch it made me nuts! That's pathetic on how important TV is in our lives! Once the cable was hooked up, I still didn't watch it during the day but at least my anxiety from it was gone. Gosh, I even hate to admit it! I can't believe a hospital has plasma TV's. It's a good thing hospitals have TV's for the pt's sake.

I would probably have more TVs if I had signed up for additional satellite TV receivers. Right now we have 4 TVs...one in the master bedroom, one in the guestroom, one in the theater room, and one in the family room. I will draw the line at putting TVs in my kids' bedrooms. But if we had another satellite TV receiver, I would probably have a TV in my office.

I think I'm in the minority: we have one tv in the house. We used to have two, but when we moved to an acreage and a smaller house, we had to get rid of one tv just because we didn't have room.
We have never (and I vow will never have) had a TV in the bedroom. That's where we have our best conversations, and I'd hate the thought that the drone of Lettermen or TV Land would put me to sleep.
It's disturbing to me how much TV I can squeeze into a day if I want to just veg, and how much TV the average adult and child watches. Check out the turn off the tv websites that promote turning the tv off for an entire week in April. It's not a bad thing.

I read once that TV is one of the biggest sleep robbers for those of us in our 20's.
