I'm not sure why some people here are so inclined to bash LCD.

Burnin: Of direct view technology LCD is the most resilient against burn-in. It's far and away more resilient than plasma.

Longevity: Short of direct view CRT's, LCD panels have the longest lifespan of any current display technology ( without costly bulb replacements ).

In the stores there are LCD's right next to plasmas and the difference is not that big if at all.

Okay heres the broke down low down

Each has 1 major flaw

Plasma- In the back of the panel there are a bunch of bulbs and sometimes they burn out. You then have to replace them which is very costly!

LCD- Very dim in daylight so unless hes playing in the dark the picture is very dull.

If I was forced to pick one of the two I would pick the LCD because there easy to maintain (besides the delicate screen) and easy to transport.

But if it was my game room I'd just go ahead and buy a LCD projector and make the game screen the size of my wall!

It's better to go for LCDs.

I have also heard that someones who own both plasma and LCD and that the LCD runs hotter. It's stone hot behind the LCD panel whereas the Plasmas are slightly warm. So get that off the list. The plasmas have low power ingestion. A 103" plasma requires less power than a women's blow dryer.
