I have a new BearPaw 2448TA Plus scanner which has not been recognised by Windows XP Pro. Mustek advised me to clear all drivers previously installed and disconnect the scanner. Then delete some INI files, install downloaded drivers then reconnct the scanner. I have followed Mustek's instructions and I now get the message USB Scanner found and the installation Wizard appears. The Wizard can't find the drivers even when I type in the precise location i.e C:\Program Files\Bearpaw\driver.

First of all you remove the driver installed, now reboot the machine next right click on 'My Computer' icon, go to 'Properties' - click on 'Hardware' tab - click on 'Device Manager' button now select the parent node and click on the icon which had the tooltip 'Scan for hardware changes' and a wizard will popup, now install the driver following the wizards instruction. I think it shoul work coz for me it worked.
