Default Epson 4990 scanner

After reading the review on this excellent website, I have just bought the Epson 4990 but am having problems scanning some slides.

The scanner works perfectly when scanning 8 slides at a time at 2400 dpi or below, but when I try to scan at 3200 dpi or above I get the error message: "No response from the scanner. Make sure the scanner is properly connected..." The scanner is, incidentally, properly connected!

However I am able to scan successfully at 3200 dpi or above when I scan slides individually, which is obviously rather tedious!

Any thoughts?

I think your printer doesn't support the printing of more than one slides together at 3200 dpi, i would suggest you to read the mannual provided with it.

The 4990 scanner is complete with a Transparency Unit as well as film holders for film formats from 35mm to 5 x 4". Beforehand flatbed scanner simplicity units were sold as an voluntary extra along with could often cost as much as the scanner.

I guess your printer doesn't confirm the printing of more one slides together at 3200 dpi, i would hint you to study the mannual provided with it.
