Default I Need Some Advice

I need some advice. I'm considering purchasing an Epson 4990 or 4990 Pro. Is the extra software in the Pro version worth an extra $100? Also considering the Microtek I900 or I800 for my wedding video business. I will be scanning mainly photographs but possibly some slides. After reading countless reviews I am leaning towards the Epson. Any advice would be appreciated.

I thought that you had already purchased the printer?

I found the i800 to be slightly sharper, but the color seemed better out of the box with the Epson, even using the standard Epson driver. Also the i800 unlike its larger brother still scans through the glass... The "new" film holder sounds good, but can crunch the neg if not loaded perfectly before locking.
So as you might imagine, I chose the Epson Pro version with Silver fast. FWIW, the SF sharpening routines are pretty good and do help a bit over the Epson standard software, but the i800 is still probably a touch sharper overall.
