Post Nifty scanner the size of a PEN

The Planon DucoPen RC800 looks like a fun (but pricey) device ($299.99). The wand is 8.9x0.5 inches and weights 2 ounches. Don't lose this pen. It posses the ability to scan in either black-and-white or color and supports resolutsion from 100 to 400 dots per inch. It does NOT require you to hold the scanning button down the entire time you scan, so you can scan a full page with little problems. It has an 8mb storage capacity and a MicroSD card slot.

Gurus claim that the scanner has excelletn image quality, but it's far from the fine prints of photos.

This device almost reminds me of something an international spy would need to steal information without taking the document. We can all be Jack Bauer.

I think most of these small scanners can connect to your computer via USB 2.0 Ambir makes two scanners that are tiny as well- one weighing 12oz and less than 12in long and the other weighing 18oz and also less than 12 in long. Go to www.ambir.com/laptop for more information.

The article I read had a picture with it. The scanner looked like a pen. From what I understand, it has it's own memory in it, so you click it on and start scanning. Maybe I'm wrong, though and rocker21 is right. The website should let you know.

Definitely. Like I said -- it sounds like something James Bond would've had.

Here's the skinny on it:

It runs on a battery and has a memory card. Yep -- it's wireless. It runs for around $350 and you can get a case for it as well. So it IS like a spy tool.
