Default Hewlett Packard

The photosmart film scanner from hewlett packard is an affordable personal film scanner.

You can scan slides, negatives, or even pictures up to 5x7 in all with this unit. This is a desktop device that does not require you do use any additional holders, jigs, or accessories to feed the negatives or pictures into the scanner.

Scanner comes with editing software so you can edit your pictures after they have been scanned.

This one is great for the home picture enthusiasts.

Wow! that sounds awesome... i don't know why anyone would really want to have one in there home though... Unless they had a lot of picture negatives or a lot of pictures that did not have negatives.

I've done a little research, and time and time again the HP Scanjet 4890 Photo Scanner is showing up as a favorite. It's only $199 - probably good for any home office.

Stunning photo quality
• Get photolike-resolution scans with the dpi1 of up to 4800 x 9600, plus 48-bit color
• Make true-to-original-quality reprints to pass around and save on your PC
• Remove dust and scratches and restore faded color from scanned images
• Remove red eye and brighten dark areas of your images using HP's adaptive lighting technology

First-rate editing, management, and distribution
• Organize, edit, share, and save scans (plus do fun photo projects!) with the included HP Image Zone software
• E-mail photos without large file attachments or downloads using the HP Instant Share functionality
• Edit scanned text using the included optical character recognition (OCR) software, then save in a variety of file types

Other highlights
• Scan 3-D objects such as jewelry and mementos, fitting large or bulky items under the adjustable lid
• Transfer scans quickly to your PC or Mac via Hi-Speed USB (scanner is compatible with USB 2.0)

I think within a year I will have to be replacing my old HP. I know I will want to get another HP so I will definitely want to keep that one in mind. I have some slides I need to transfer to cds or something so this might be my chance. Thanks for the heads up
