LED Circuit
An LED circuit is composed of a power supply (V), an LED (the anode is usually the longer lead) and a resistor. The three devices are connected in a simple series circuit. The positive terminal of the power supply (frequently a red wire) is connected to the long lead of the LED. The short lead of the LED (the cathode) is then connected to a resistor which is in turn connected to the negative power supply connector (typically a black wire).
