Wink The brain inside the box!!!

What is TiVo you might ask? Well here is what it is direct from the www.tivo.com website.

Your TiVoŽ box, powered by the amazing TiVoŽ service, automatically finds and digitally records all of your favorite shows, every time they're on. Every episode of your favorite series. Every Coppola movie. Every home improvement program. Even Dora cartoons! Whatever you choose. All while you're out living life. Plus, only TiVo lets you watch your favorite shows any time, anywhere

If there is any difference between DVR or not or if there is anyone that wants more information please just drop me a line and I will research further information unless you have that information to share.

Please share with us thanks!!!

What is the cost on Tivo as opposed to DVR? I mean which is cheaper and which is better I mean it seems like they are one and the same but price wise if I went with Tivo would it be better or if I went through my current cable company that has a DVR is that the cheaper route to go? I was just curious cause I am looking into that kind of thing at the moment and I don't want to get screwed price wise ya know.

Anyhow thanks for your help in advance and if you have any information on the topic please let me know cause that would be sweet.

Thanks again.

As someone else said, Tivo is a type of DVR so one isn't cheaper than the other (they are one in the same). If you go to the Tivo web site, you can see what the pricing is. You can get the most basic box for free and the cheapest plan is $16.95 per month.

Default Dish Dvr

I have a DVR that came with my Dish and I love it.

It is a little extra a month, but when programmed, will tape anything you want.

I normally tape comedy shows on the comedy channel and if I thought a joke was funny, I will either rewind it or just continue to watch the program to see if there are more funny bits.

I have 100 hours on mine and the bad thing is that if I run out of time on it, it will started deleting the old stuff to tape the new stuff.

Make sure when you are done watching whatever you taped, to either tape it to a dvd or delete it. 100 hours goes by fast.

I like taping my soap, which I've been watching for 19 years now (since I was 11!). There's always a line or expression that was missed and it's fun to rewind and watch it again.

My favorite part is that my husband will record his favorite sporting events. If his team loses, he won't even watch the game and thus not waste his time. If his team wins, watching the game takes half the amount of time because he zips right through the commercials.

Sounds like I need to check this tivo thing out. I seem more and more to have less time to sit down and watch my favorite shows when they are actually on. Or when I do get the chance, either the phone rings or I get distracted and have to do something else.
