Talking

both, in different ways.
old in a classic, kinda phony kinda way
new in a high tech, realistic, cool kinda way.
but both. like teenage mutant ninja turtles or labrynth... i love the way they're done and it might be cool to have them redone, high-tech style. but to replace the classics & classic style would be lame. and... like i said if there were the classic ninja turtles and a redone one, i would probably like them both, but in completely different ways.
i guess it just depends.

difference in old & new?
think about it like... TMNT is kinda fake, kinda cheesy (com'on... their addiction to pizza & hatred for anchovies & paying the delivery guy through a sewer & saying "turtle power!" and stuff?), but really classic.
if they redid it would probably be completely different - the turtles would be computer animated, they would do more ninja-ey fight scenes, probably some cool moves, shredder would be really scary... it would just have a different feel.
take Charlie & the chocolate factory.
the old one is classic, the new one is technological.
they're the same movie, but they're completely different.
i like them both a lot, but not int he same way. the new one is way more computer, creepier, appeals & lives up to the standard that's been set for movies etc.

I will agree that it is hard to compare the two "ages" of shows/movies. Each is unique in their own ways. As was stated earlier, I too like some older movies that I don't think should be "redone" and some of the new movies are instant classics as well.

It's ironic to me that the movies we call "new" right now will eventually be the "old" ones we are discussing in 20 years. What will we say about the films then?

And about the dukes -- it's more than just the imagery. The whole plot was disgusting. We had to turn it off halfway through b/c of the gross immorality.

The new Dukes was a tragedy... what a waste of film. If Jessica Simpson wants to be in a movie please put her in a "new" movie and not torture a remake with her.
