Default Vonage

Pros: Best call quality and reliability of all independent providers; unlimited plans includes calls to several European countries

Cons: A little more expensive than some providers

Vonage is not the cheapest VoIP service, but our testing and research has shown that it is the best. Vonage has invested the most time and money in building its network and in acquiring new customers (it has the most customers of any VoIP provider and recently completed an IPO). As a result, Vonage provides the highest quality service of any of our recommended providers and is the best choice for those who need or want superior call quality and reliability.

Default More Vonage

I really like vonages and would definately recommend it.

At $24.95 per month and your first month free for their unlimited plan, Vonage is still priced to save most people hundreds of dollars a year compared to traditional phone service.

Vonage recently made their service an even better value by including calls to Italy, France, Spain, UK and Ireland for free in their Unlimited plans, making it a fantastic value for frequent callers to those countries. Vonage has recently received some bad press regarding customer service issues, but in our testing we have not had any problems with Vonage customer service.

Is Vonage available in all areas? Living in a rural state, we have limited signal on some cell services. In some areas we can't get Cell One coverage, in other areas, Verizon is limited. How does Vonage for its accessibility?

I just checked to see if my area of the sticks could get Vonage, and that's a negative. Those of us out in the boonies will have to wait a while longer like we have for every other cool service, like high speed internet.

I know that Vonage lists their per month rates, but there's always the "plus fees" part. Does anyone know how much those fees usually are?
